About Domain Names

Your domain name is your "online address". The name you select should represent your business and be easy to spell/remember.

All domain names use the same general format [].

Your domain name can end with ".com", ".net" or ".org". There are other endings (or extensions) but they are uncommon and not recommended for everyday small businesses. Generally ".net" is used for an internet based business (ex: e-commerce sites that sell things online), ".org" is used for non-profit organizations and ".com" is used for any other commercial business. Web Nibble recommends using ".com" if at all possible.

Your domain name must be unique and registered with a valid domain registrar. Web Nibble will be registering your domain in your name. If you already have a domain name Web Nibble will work with your provider to make the appropriate updates.

Choosing Your Domain Name

To expedite the registration process we suggest you come up with a number of domain name options (4-6 is a good start). Once you have some ideas you can look to see if your domain name of choice is available by visiting our domain provider. Please note that your domain registration fee is included in your setup/subscription.

When looking for availability, do not register your domain name.
Web Nibble will do it for you after you subscribe. You'll be asked to provide a domain name at that time.

Email Forwarding

Your domain name registration includes Email Forwarding. You continue using your current email ISP provider (ex: AOL, Earthlink, MSN, Hotmail, etc.) but you can use an alias email address based on your domain name. For example if we register [] then we can forward any email address that ends with "" to any email address of your choice. You can set up multiple aliases in case you want to forward emails to different people. This feature is included in the cost of your service ... there aren't any additional fees for email forwarding. We will automatically set up all email addresses ending with your domain name to be forwarded to your primary email address. You can let us know if there are additional email alias names you'd like to set up.

Website Hosting

Website hosting is the storage of your website and its content, made accessible to the outside world. Just as your home has a postal address, your website also needs to have a unique identification. Your website host provides you with this identification and the tools necessary for your website to be seen and technically interpreted by the outside world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All Web Nibble subscriptions include website hosting. Unlike other hosting services, there are no limits to size or visitor activity.
